250g French beans (cut into 1-inch pieces)
1 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp urad dal
1–2 green chillies (slit)
½ tsp red chilli powder

For coconut masala:
2 tbsp freshly grated coconut
1 tsp roasted chana dal (dalia)

👩🍳 How to Make It
1) Prep the beans
Wash and trim the beans. Slice into even pieces so they cook uniformly.
2) Temper the spices
Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them crackle. Add urad dal, slit green chillies, and curry leaves. Sauté for a few seconds.
3) Cook the beans
Add the beans with salt and turmeric. Cover and cook on medium heat for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until tender.
4) Add the coconut masala
Mix in red chilli powder and the grated coconut + roasted dal mix. Stir well for 2–3 minutes on low heat.
